I love making things. It's that simple. About a year ago I decided to try not to buy new clothes. Instead I bought a sewing machine. I'm still working my way through my old wardrobe (and several other people's too) reconstructing garments. This blog shows some of my work. Whenever possible I've linked to the online tutorials and websites that have inspired me. In turn, I hope that this blog will be an inspiration to others to recycle, remake and recreate.

This belt is the first piece in an outfit I'm making for a family gathering. The theme is black and silver. The fabric is some kind of rubbery synthetic from a slightly flared knee length skirt. The bow is made from the matching polyester lining
I've always wanted a wide Obi-style belt. I based the design on instructions given by Weekend Designer here but (as always) adapted them to fit the constraints of the reclaimed materials (and my own artistic whim).
